Meet Our Coaches
Karyn has been running and coaching for many years. She has run over 50 marathons, including 17 straight CIM's and 3 Boston Marathons. For the past several years she has been the 4 hour pace leader for the CIM, a pace leader for the Urban Cow Half Marathon, the Modesto Marathon and the Pony Express Marathon. In her running career she has also completed the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run 5 times and completed 10 Iron Man Triathalons.
Her euphoric moments are helping people to get across the finish line and accomplish their goals.
Sonja found her passion for running in high school while competing on the Track and Cross Country teams. Wanting to add a new challenge to her running, she began participating in duathlons and triathlons in 2001. A fascination with how to build a stronger and healthier body led Sonja to getting her certification as a Personal Trainer. She is also a Certified Distance Running Coach through Road Runners Club of America. Sonja enjoys sharing her experience and enthusiasm for running and fitness, and has been been a volunteer triathlon coach with Total Body Fitness for four years prior to joining the Gold Country Run + Sport team.
She loves working with new runners as well as those who have run in the past but may be restarting. Her goal is to help trainees make an easy transition into running. Nothing inspires her more than helping runners reach individual milestones and seeing them develop their true passion for running! She is a mom of 3 and practices Manual and Movement Therapy.
